The “Flagella Table”

Tree slice diameter, 20 x 23 Inches, width: Inches. Height: 23 Inches. Table legs: ​2 Inches wide mild steel x 1/8 Inches thick.

     The “Flagellum Table” was made for of my Designed Objects practice. It has two main inspirations behind the design; reusing wood waste and bio-mimicry of organic shapes from microbes.

The wood slice was reclaimed from Chicago’s Department of Forestry, that was cut down from the ash beetle borer epidemic, that would have otherwise been chipped.
